I do have an option for you but the fold-away trailer tongue adapters we offer cannot be used on trailers with an aluminum tongue. The adapter is steel so mating this to an aluminum tongue could cause galvanic corrosion and there is also concerns with strength. That said, many aluminum frame trailers have a steel tongue so if this is what you have or you can convert the trailer to this you'll be able to use one of the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit listed below.

For your aluminum trailer with a galvanized steel tongue (swing-away tongues cannot be used on aluminum tongues), you'll need a die-cast steel tongue with a zinc finish from Fulton.

Since we do not offer a folding coupler designed for 2-1/2 x 2-1/2-inch trailer tongues you can use the Fulton folding coupler # FHDPB330301 along with shims to make up the 1/2-inch difference in trailer tongue height and width. The material you add to the trailer's tongue should completely fill the mounting area on the folding coupler so that there is full contact between the tongue and the interior of the coupler. To measure for a fold-away trailer tongue hinge you want to first measure the size of your trailer tongue, for example Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge part # FHDPB330301 is for 3" x 3" trailer tongues.
To determine where to cut the tongue, you want to go by the gross trailer weight rating of the trailer which gives you the max pivot point length in inches. The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB330301 fits only a 3 x 3-inch trailer tongue. We do have other sizes of folding coupler, all are shown on the linked page, but none fits a 2-1/2- x 2-1/2-inch trailer tongue.

The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit part # FHDPB230101 is what I recommend for a Malone EcoLight Trailer part # MAL53FR. The Retractable Tongue Kit for Malone MicroSport Trailers part # MPG494 will fit on the tongue but the MicroSport has a one piece tongue and the EcoLight has a two piece tongue so the connection point between the two tongue pieces on the EcoLight could create issues.

The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB330301 that you referenced cannot be used with an aluminum-frame trailer. This is true for both weld-on and bolt-on kits. The issue is not due to difficulties related to welding aluminum (though this would be a separate concern) but rather has to do with welding different metals (with different melting points). If you add on the 12" extension to the front of the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB330301 this will change your tongue weight slightly as well your maneuverability may be different as well. Otherwise there is no issue attaching the hinge in the manner you are wanting.

Your Malone MPG596XV2 Malone LowMax XtraLight Trailer has a removable tongue that's pretty easy to install and remove for storing the trailer in a garage or other tight spaces which would tend to make a hinge kit unnecessary. This being said, the trailer has a tongue that is constructed of 3 x 2 inch galvanized steel tubing, so it would indeed be compatible with the Fulton # FHDPB230101 bolt-on fold away hinge kit you'd mentioned.

The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 5" Tongue part # FHDPB350101 will work with an A-Frame Big Bubba Deckover trailer with a straight tongue welded beneath it. As long as the straight tongue is a 3" x 5" trailer tongue with a material thickness between .188" and .120". Please take a look at the accompanying chart to determine the maximum pivot length allowable for your particular straight tongue.

While you can use the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 5" Tongue # FHDPB350101 your 3" x 4" trailer tongue, you would not be able to do it with the Titan adapter you mentioned. Instead, to mount this hitch kit to your tongue you would need to have 1/2" spacers welded to the sides of the tongue in order to get it to work.

The Titan Zinc-Plated Coupler item # T4845000 will work with a fold away tongue so long as it has a 3" channel. There isn't a way to increase the length. This coupler has a 500 lbs capacity and fits a 2" ball. These couplers are quite a bit smaller but all close to the same size.

I reached out to my contact at Fulton, and since your trailer has a steel tongue and the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 3" Tongue - Bolt On - Up to 5,000 lbs # FHDPB330301 would be bolting to steel you will have no issues.
The issues arise when using it with an aluminum tongue as the aluminum is softer which can cause the mounting holes to elongate and come loose over time.

This can be welded in place or can be bolted in place but you definitely want it to be longer than the hinge for the added stability needed for the hinge.
